National Maori Music Summit

The 2007 National Maori Music Summit 2007 will see musicians, bands, singer-songwriters and kapa haka performers from across Aotearoa come together and showcase the best in Maori music and performing arts.
The National Maori Music Summit is comprised of two key elements:-- Workshops for young, aspiring songwriters, djs, singers and musicians-- Pao Pao Pao Showcase, featuring superb experienced performers alongside emerging new talent
In 2006, Event Manager Ngahiwi Apanui gave a greater focus to the music workshops, attracting 100 budding songwriters to the one-day course where a prize of $1,000 was announced for the best original song. The prize was subsequently awarded on stage at the Pao Pao Pao Showcase concert.
If you are interested in performing at the National Maori Music Summit 2007 please visit the Toi Maori website for more information and enrollment form.
