Te Tumu Toi Wananga – Māori Arts Wananga
Te Herenga Waka Marae

20 – 24 June 2007

Victoria’s Te Herenga Waka Marae, supported by the Centre for Continuing Education and Executive Development, invites you to experience Te Tumu Toi Māori, Māori creative art as a living educational experience.

Te Tumu Toi Māori is a series of daytime creative workshops that explore ta moko (the art of Māori tattoo), whakairo (Māori carving) and taonga puoro (traditional Māori musical instruments). The workshops include lunchtime lectures to discuss the respective art forms in more depth and tell the fascinating stories exemplified in Te Herenga Waka¹s own elaborate whare whakairo (meeting house), Te Tumu.

All activities take place on Te Herenga Waka Marae, 46 Kelburn Parade. All participants are encouraged to attend the pōwhiri on day one of the programme. These wānanga are free however places are limited. To ensure your place on the programme please register using the attached form.
